Zinc oxide usually appears as a white powder, nearly insoluble in water. The powder is widely used as an additive into numerous materials and products including plastics, ceramics, glass, cement and rubber. It is found in : ' Centrum', a dietary tablet and ' Sports' : Suncreen lotion.
An interesting fact !
- Zinc oxide is widely used to treat a variety of other skin conditions, However, many sunscreens use nano zinc oxide (along with nano titanium dioxide) which does get absorbed into the skin.
This could cause as of yet unknown health problems and requires further study.
